Mercury

Newpoint Mercury is a self contained Universal Element Manager that manages local and remote networks. Packaged in a 2U high rack mount unit, mercury contains a fully functional version of Newpoint Compass software, packaged in a one or 2U rack-mount enclosure. Available configurations include Flash Memory or a Hard Drive. The base-unit includes four serial ports, and is upgradeable to 20 ports for managing serial equipment. Mercury is also fully capable of transmitting and receiving SNMP traffic. Communicating to the Network Operations Centre (NOC) can be via PT&T dial-up connection, leased line, satellite overhead channel, LAN or WAN. Dial back up is provided for LAN and WAN applications. A front panel 10BaseT control port is provided for interfacing to a laptop computer operating Compass View.
