LeCroy Corporation launches a new line of WaveRunner digital oscilloscopes that eliminate the tradeoff between high-performance, display size, and bench footprint. They are truly "No Compromise" oscilloscopes available at a great price.
Nearly two years ago, LeCroy created the first Big Display/Small Footprint form factor oscilloscope—a combination so unique that it won industry acclaim, including product of the year awards. Now, LeCroy has brought this award-winning form factor to the high-performance WaveRunner line of digital oscilloscopes. Like WaveSurfer,® these oscilloscopes boast big, bright, 10.4" displays and only 6" (15 cm) of depth, making them perfect for a crowded bench, and great for engineers who appreciate a big display to better understand their
circuit. In fact, the 10.4" display is 1.5-2.5x larger than competitive displays (that are only 8.4" or 6.4" in size, respectively) and the footprint is 1/3 to 1/2 the size of other units in its class.
The new WaveRunner Xi oscilloscopes boast of sample rates up to 10 GS/s (interleaved) on the 600 MHz unit, and standard 2 Mpts/Ch memory (with optional memory up to 24 Mpts/Ch interleaved). These high sample rates (at least 10x oversampling) result in significantly better signal fidelity for fast edges or high frequency signals, and ensure accurate timing measurements when using all channels. In fact, these sample rates exceed those of most competitive oscilloscope that are rated at 1 or 1.5 GHz bandwidth (and also have a correspondingly higher price). Thus, the WaveRunner Xi Series is the highest performance oscilloscope in this bandwidth class with the most desirable form factor—an unbeatable combination.
In addition, LeCroy offers a mixed signal option (MS-32) that allows you to add 32 digital channels, each with 1 Mpts/Ch (32 Mpts total) to a 4-channel WaveRunner Xi to expand 4-channel oscilloscope capability to 4+32, which significantly enhances mixed signal and embedded controller debug.
The new WaveRunner Xi Series oscilloscopes are available in 400 and 600 MHz bandwidths. The 400 MHz unit is available in 4 channels only, while the 600 MHz is available in 2 and 4 channel units. All models sample at 5 GS/s on all channels simultaneously, and the 600 MHz model interleaves to 10 GS/s. All models provide 2 Mpts/Ch of memory (4 Mpts/Ch interleaved), which equates to a long 400μs capture time (at full sample rate). Up to 12 Mpts/Ch (24 Mpts/Ch interleaved) of memory is available optionally.
