The UE-9100 series is a multi-channel encoding platform housed in a compact 1-rack unit chassis. The UE-9120 is the first model of the UE-9000 family of products and is capable of encoding two MPEG-2 channels simultaneously, resulting in reduced power consumption and rack space. The next UE-9100 model to be released, the UE-9140, will provide the capability to encode four MPEG-2 channels in the 1-rack unit chassis.
The UE-9120's advanced multiplexing capabilities such as encoder cascading, save external multiplexing. The UE-9120's unique design integrates analog cue tone detection and DPI Cue Tone insertion (SCTE-35) to eliminate the need for an external Cue Tone detection device, thus saving essential rack space and operating costs. The UE-9120 provides IP output as a standard feature in addition to ASI. Various other output network interfaces will be also available.

The UE-9000 Series
The Scopus UE-9000 platform enables broadcasters and cable operators to deploy existing MPEG-2 video compression technologies while providing a migration path to advanced compression schemes such as AVC (H.264) and VC-1 encoding in both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) formats. By serving as a universal solution for MPEG-2 and advanced video coding, the UE-9000 platform reduces the network complexity and simplifies equipment planning by avoiding the need for separate encoding platforms for each broadcast format. |
